Gapwise is a free and open-source timetable, campus navigation, and student planning platform for students across multiple Canadian universities.

Import your timetable in your browser, explore source-backed campus maps, understand the usable time between classes, and plan your campus day across Canadian universities. The default edition supports University of Toronto (UTM, UTSG, UTSC) with ACORN import and pedestrian routing for UTM. Dedicated editions are available for Carleton, TMU, Queen's, Laurier, York, and McMaster.

Gapwise was created by Andrew Muratov, a University of Toronto student and the lead engineer of the project. Gapwise is open source on GitHub.

Supported Canadian Universities

Gapwise provides dedicated editions with university-specific timetable import, campus data, and verified destinations:

University of Toronto — Mississauga, St. George, and Scarborough
Carleton University — Ottawa campus
Toronto Metropolitan University — Downtown Toronto campus
Queen's University — Kingston campus
Wilfrid Laurier University — Waterloo campus

Your timetable, connected to campus context

Gapwise combines class times, rooms, campus identity, available deterministic travel time, and gap budgets so the schedule can answer more than when the next class begins.

Private by architecture

The original timetable file is parsed locally in the browser. Private sync is optional, public campus data stays separate from private student state, and foreground location is not retained as a movement history.

Algorithms where correctness matters

Gap durations, leave-by times, route selection, and other computable values use deterministic code. Optional AI interfaces are bounded to the places where interpretation is actually useful.

Gapwise is an independent student project for students at the University of Toronto, Carleton University, Toronto Metropolitan University, Queen's University, Wilfrid Laurier University, York University, and McMaster University. It is not an official service of any of these institutions and does not claim university approval, sponsorship, or endorsement.
